Every visitor who enters the immersive room is taken on a journey through time to observe the dinosaurs and other contemporary reptiles that inhabited Asturias 150 million years ago, through a 3-screen immersive projection that combines real images of present-day environments with superimposed 3D recreations.
In this space, visitors can "travel" to La Griega beach in Colunga to see the footprints of large sauropods; to the Solero stream in Tazones (Villaviciosa), with pterosaur tracks; or to Tereñes beach in Ribadesella, with sets of footprints from different dinosaurs on sloping sediments.
After observing the footprints left by these animals in the present day, there will be a "journey" to a 3D-reconstructed past that allows visitors to learn about the different types of dinosaurs and reptiles identified in Asturias, understand how these fossil "clues" found on the Dinosaur Coast originated, and discover the landscapes that existed during the Jurassic period.
The scientific team at the Asturias Jurassic Museum collaborated on the development of this visual project, ensuring the accuracy of the content, which explains in an engaging way how dinosaur footprints were formed, what the ecosystems and animals that inhabited Jurassic Asturias were like, and the geological and palaeontological value of the Dinosaur Coast.
A visual and educational experience about Asturias’ Jurassic period, accessible and stimulating for audiences of all ages.
