Visit to the Cave Art Centre

 

The Cave Art Centre is a facility dedicated to the display of artistic collections from the Tito Bustillo cave. Here the visitors can find out when the cave was discovered, who inhabited it and how the rock art is preserved inside it.

You can visit:

 

Individual:

On your own: highly accessible for the individual visitor who will interact with the various exhibition elements. The visitor will be given a booklet to aid the exhibition itinerary. This booklet is available in several languages.

Includes an audioguide (via a mobile app): using a mobile application, visitors can download the tour in several languages: Spanish, English, French and German. The Centre also loans handsets.

Guided tour (spanish): lasting 45 minutes approximately. 

  • From 1st February to 30th June: Saturdays and Sundays at 13:00 h.
  • From 15th July to 31stAugust: from Wednesday to Sunday at 11:30, 12:30, 16:30 y 17:30 h.

Visits are limited to 15 participants per slot.

Guided visits are only in Spanish.

 

With a workshop: it is possible to complete the visit to the Centre with a workshop, an activity that aims to give a different approach to the interpretation of archaeological and prehistoric heritage. More information in the Agenda of the website.

Groups

Various types of visits are offered at the Cave Art Centre. Advance booking is required in all cases (For information and booking, call +34 902 306 600/985 185 860).

Individual: aided by a booklet given out with the admission ticket.

Guided tour: lasting 45 minutes approximately.

Guided tour + workshop: it includes visit to the Cave Art Centre and participation in a thematic workshop. 

Accessible visits: These visits aim to bring the range of culture offered by the centre closer to people with diverse physical abilities through tours adapted to their needs:

Guided tour or workshop-tour in different languages: In November, December and February, the Centro de Arte Rupestre offers the opportunity to take a guided tour of the permanent exhibition or the workshop "Pintamos con arte" (We paint with art) in English or French (Level B1).

Full-day visits: If you’re looking to spend the day in the area, Ribadesella/Ribeseya offers a range of activities. Several active tourism companies offer various activities, such as ornithological routes, a canoeing course followed by a trip down the Sella River, canyoning, caving, surfing courses, horse riding, boat tours, paintballing and coasteering. On the official Ribadesella/Ribeseya Tourism website you can find the list of companies that offer these types of activities in the area.
