Instrumental workshop

The Instrumental Workshop offers six display cases with reproductions and seven explanatory panels about stone carving during the Palaeolithic period. Visitors can view different resources obtained with raw materials extracted from the Cantabrian landscape and discover how various types of stone were used as a source for making tools.

Visitors can also contemplate elaborate tools formed from cores (such as a stone slab); flakes, obtained by carving and treating the morphological piece extracted from a core by directly pounding it; and from bones and horns, by cutting and scraping fragments of animal bone and horns.
